(Male First Name) (Male Surname) is the World's Best Dad
Competitors at the Dad Olympics were reeling yesterday after a landslide victory by (Home Town) dad (Male First Name) (Male Surname).
The (Age)-year-old outsider won Gold in nine of the 14 events at the Wembley games, earning enough points to scoop the coveted Dad of the Year trophy – ahead of bookies’ favourite Brad Pitt.
Speaking after an emotional podium ceremony (Male Surname) said: “I still can’t believe it; it just hasn’t sunk in yet.”
A disappointed runner up said: “Hey, what can I say, the best man won out there today. The way (Male First Name) competed in some of those medals was quite phenomenal.
(Male Surname) was entered into the contest by his proud family, who say: “Poor old dad doesn’t get a lot of recognition for what he does, so we wanted to show him how much he is appreciated. We thought that rather than buy him a book, a CD, or a handkerchief, we would enter him into a global competition. He is a brilliant Dad and we thought he had a great chance of winning.”
Events (Male Surname) won included:
-
The ‘Just Being Dad Really’ medal. (Male First Name) fought off tough competition from Hollywood superstar Will Smith and singer Chris Martin in this event – eventually winning it by finding a lost TV remote control without complaining too much.
-
The ‘Really Good at Settling Disputes’ medal. Bookies favourite Bob Geldof had to admit defeat after seeing (Male Surname) put his skills into action.
-
The ‘Excellent at Mending Stuff’ medal. Going head to head with Hollywood heart-throb Matt Damon, (Male First Name) was able to make a temporary repair to a Hoover – setting a new world record for the event.
-
The ‘Being There When We Need You’ medal. He emerged a clear winner in this event, with none of the other competitors able to touch him.
Other medals included a bronze in the ‘Doing Funny Voices’ and silver in the ‘Being a Dab Hand at Videogames’ events. And in spite of being disqualified from two events: ‘Having Great Taste in Music’ and ‘Being Able to Cook Dinner When Mum’s Not Well’ (Male Surname) did more than enough to earn the title.
“It wouldn’t have mattered whether he’d won the trophy or not”, added a family spokesperson. “He will always be the Best Dad in the world to us.”
