Brighton & Hove Albion Football Book - Gift Details

If you know a diehard footie fanatic, there’s the inevitable request for football gifts every birthday and every Christmas, even if they’ve exhausted the stock in the club shop. Happily, there is an alternative...

The Brighton and Hove Albion Football Book – it’s a seriously big hitter. This newspaper-sized hardback kicks off in the early part of the 20th century in order to trace the team’s history through reprints of original reports. What’s more, you can personalise a certificate on the inside-front cover and, if you fancy digging just a little deeper, gold emboss their Name on the front cover.

Kicking things off with coverage of Brighton’s FA Cup first round win over Preston in 1908, this football book charts the Seagull’s history right up to the end of last season.

It’s a safe bet that no one reading this book will have been around in 1910, when Brighton beat Villa by a single goal in the FA Charity Shield. So here’s the chance, through reprints of original newspaper reports, to relive the Seagull’s only national triumph to date. Not that Brighton’s history has been dull – far from it. There’s also coverage of the 6-0 drubbing of Watford in ’58 that secured the Division Three title, as well as the press’ views on Brian Clough’s time at the club and the promotions into Division Two and One in ’77 and ’79, respectively. And, of course, the Cup Final of ’83 also features heavily. Things wind up at the end of last season.

All the articles are printed on luxury paper and independently cut and bound in a hardback book.

Now available with colour print option for coverage from 2006 onwards.
