With our Crystal Palace Football Book, the lucky recipient will be able to look back to the highs and lows, the inside stories and the gossip about their favourite team through headlines of the day. Founded in 1905, the team have an incredible history to reminisce!
Whether your buying for a diehard Eagles fan or treating yourself, there’s never a dull moment when you’re a Palace fan. With 13 seasons in top flight, promotions, relegations, a Cup Final, and the dreaded word ‘administration’ – this book has it all.
This football book picks things up in 1907. It follows the Eagles’ progress through the leagues and obviously covers the club’s efforts to win their first major honour, when they narrowly missed out on the FA Cup in 1990.
But, of course, it’s not all about the near misses – league titles and play-off wins also feature, including the 1-0 win over West Ham in 2004 that sent Palace back into the Premier League. It’s also the perfect opportunity to relive the exploits of legends like Nigel Martyn, John Salako, Ian Wright, as well as older players such as Peter Simpson, John Jackson, Don Rogers and Johnny Byrne.

Crystal Palace FC was founded in 1905 by workers of The Crystal Palace; a magnificent building on Sydenham Hill that housed the Great Exhibition. The club rose to fame in 1907 when they beat defending champions Newcastle United on the way to the FA Cup quarter-final. The Eagles were elected into the Football League in 1920 and Palace won the Third Division in their first official season. The club was promoted to the top flight for the first time in 1969 and they re-entered the First Division in 1989. Crystal Palace finished in third place two years later – the club’s highest ever placing in the league. The Eagles reached the semi-finals of both domestic cups in 1995.
