- Gift Details
Give an Everton enthusiast the chance to relive their team’s latest wins as well as every other high and low that went before it – going all the way back to 1906. The Personalised Everton Football Book is a history of the Toffees through headlines of the time.
Any Everton enthusiast can delve into the team’s rich history through stories taken from the UK’s largest newspaper archive. Content covers the last 100 years, so the reader can get a feel for the way things were to help bring their memories alive.
Over the past 15 years, Everton has established itself as a solid top-half outfit, finishing no lower than 11th in the league, and qualifying for Europe on six occasions. But such comfortable stability is a far cry from the Everton of old, a team that spent much of the 60s and 80s on the throne of English football, and most of the 50s and 90s embroiled in relegation battles, their top flight status (now stretching to 65 years) rescued on the final day of the season on more than one occasion!
Now, you can relive these memorable times with the personalised Everton newspaper book, featuring articles from the country’s largest newspaper archive, presented exactly how they appeared at the time of printing.
Having competed in England’s top flight for a record 108 seasons, squeezing Everton’s accomplishments into one book isn’t easy. Things kick off in 1906 with the club’s cup win, before going onto look at their four subsequent cup victories and eight league titles.
In addition to capturing these magic moments, the book uses reprints of original newspaper reports to relive the exploits of Everton greats like Dixie Dean who, during the 1927/28 season, banged in no fewer than 60 league goals. Other Toffees’ legends to feature include Neville Southall, Dave Watson, Peter Reid and Kevin Sheedy.

Everton FC is one of the most successful clubs in English football. The Toffees have won numerous FA Cups and league championships, as well as the European Cup Winners’ Cup. Everton was a founder member of the Football League back in 1888. The Toffees won five top flight titles by the outbreak of the Second World War and the club won its sixth title in 1961 under Harry Catterick. Everton won the FA Cup for the third time in 1966 and another league trophy in 1970. During this golden decade, the Toffees became the first British team to play in Europe for five successive seasons. Everton won the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1985 and the club has enjoyed several appearances in the UEFA Cup in recent years. The Toffees also continue to push the “big four" sides in the Premier League.
