Hibernian has won Scottish Championships and Scottish FA Cups, in addition to reaching the semi-finals of the European Cup in 1956. The popular football club, which is famous for its attacking style of play, was formed in 1875 by a group of Irish enthusiasts. Hibernian is the Roman name for Ireland and although the side is no longer seen as Irish, this feature of the Hibees' history is displayed proudly within the club's badge, alongside symbols for Edinburgh and Leith.
Our Personalised Calendars feature a selection of reproduced match reports from our extensive newspaper archives, including a wide range of European and domestic games from the past fifty years. Written by journalists who were at the matches themselves, each report is a fascinating read for anyone interested in the history of the Hibees!
These Personalised Calendars begin in the season of 1960/1961, when the Hibees faced and beat the mighty Barcelona in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. The first leg was played away at the Nou Camp and finished in an exciting 4-4 draw, but the second game would be even more dramatic, when the two clubs faced each other back at Easter Road. After drawing 2-2 for 85 minutes, Bobby Kinloch found himself taking a vital penalty, which he would thankfully convert to win the tie for Hibs.
Other European matches featured in the A3 Calendar include the 6-0 victory against Swedish side Malmo in 1970 and a 3-0 away win against Videoton in 1989.
Domestic highlights covered in the Hibernian Calendar Gift include the League Cup Final win against Dunfermline in 1991 and two incredible victories against Rangers in the otherwise tough season of 2005/2006 - kicking off with an Ivan Sproule hat-trick in the Scottish Cup, just days after he had been considering quitting the sport.
Of course our Hibernian Calendar could not be complete without reports on victories over Hearts. We have therefore featured three of the very best derby wins from the past twenty years. In 1989, Hibs won 1-0 in the league fixture. In 1994, the home derby finished 2-1. In 2000, Hibernian went goal crazy, as Mixu Paatelainen fired in the only ever hat-trick thus far in an Edinburgh derby and the Hibees went on to win by an incredible 6-2.
Each Hibernian Football Calendar contains the following reproduced newspaper reports:
We have an exciting selection of alternative football gifts that are designed especially for fans of the Hibees. These include our Personalised Hibernian Diaries and a unique Personalised Hibernian Football Book, which is smartly presented and can be treasured for years to come. Other more general football presents include our Spoof Football Headlines and our Personalised Football Commentaries.
I Just Love It also has a range of attractive Personalised Image Calendars that cover a variety of themes, such as Best Dad, Football, Golf, Rugby and our popular Shop 'Til You Drop edition.
