Queen Elizabeth Pictorial Edition - Newspaper Book
- Gift Details
To mark the Queen Elizabeth II 90th birthday celebrations, we’ve specially created a personalised book featuring original newspaper Queen Elizabeth II life story articles as well as 32 official pictures from the Daily Mirror archive – a truly wonderful gift for celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday. The Queen Elizabeth book opens with eight pages of exclusive pictorial images, taken from the Daily Mirror, from 26th April 1926, showing Her Majesty in the arms of her mother, at her christening in Buckingham Palace alongside her father, the Duke of York (future King George VI), King George V, the Earl of Strathmore, Queen Mary, the Countess of Strathmore, and Princess Mary. The Queen Elizabeth II history book then moves onto original newspaper reports from 6th February 1952 on the death of King George VI, the event which forced a young Elizabeth into the limelight. News of her father’s death broke whilst Elizabeth was away in Kenya with the Duke of Edinburgh, and a short while later, she was declared queen, aged only 25.
Read all about the Queen’s Coronation ceremony on June 2nd 1953, held in Westminster Abbey, followed by a procession through London. Both the ceremony and the procession are extensively covered in this personalised Queen 90th birthday book, as the nation watched and celebrated this historic occasion.
Being the Queen of seven different countries (United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Ceylon and Pakistan) as well as Head of the Commonwealth, the Queen’s numerous official tours of these countries are recorded in this historical book. Inside are articles which report on Queen Elizabeth II’s first official tour as Queen as she spent six months visiting 12 countries in the Commonwealth, starting in Bermuda and finishing in Gibraltar. Queen Elizabeth’s historic visit to Ireland, the first visit by a monarch to Ireland for 100 years, is also included in this gift book.
Other momentous events documented in this book include the births of Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, Prince Charles’s investiture as Prince of Wales, the celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s landmark birthdays, the weddings of four children, including Prince Charles and Lady Diana, the Silver and Golden Jubilee celebrations, becoming a grandmother and mourning the loss of Diana, Princess of Wales. Also included is coverage and photos of the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations from 21st April 2016 as well as the events from Her Majesty's official birthday on Saturday 11th June 2016.
It’s a fascinating insight into the reign and times of Queen Elizabeth II, making it a wonderful tribute to the Queen’s 90th birthday and a truly fabulous gift. The book opens with a front page montage surrounding your own personalised label containing the recipient’s Name and a Message. It can be further personalised by gold embossing the recipient’s Name on the front cover and presented in a stunning gift box at no extra cost.
