This newspaper book is the perfect gift for any Baggy. The book features reprints of original newspaper reports starting in the early part of the 20th century and finishing at the end of last season. Formed in 1878, West Brom has been busy, racking up a series of incredible wins and some of the greatest football moments.
From 1907 to the end of last season, this West Bromwich Albion Football Book takes a look at all of the Baggies’ best moments, from titles and cups, to Astle and Regis. But that’s just the tip of the football iceberg.
When your club boasts legends like Ronnie Allen, Tony Brown, Jeff Astle, John Wile and Cyrille Regis, you know a football book charting the club’s history is going to be a good one. In West Brom’s case, it goes back to 1907 and uses reprints of original newspaper reports to recount the Baggies’ finest moments.
You’ll find accounts of the First Division title win in 1920, in addition to three of their five FA Cup wins and the League Cup victory in 1966. More recently, the book also looks at the side’s successful efforts to bounce out of the Championship, as well as their exploits in Premier League.

West Bromwich Albion FC was formed in 1878. The club turned professional in 1885 and reached the FA Cup final in the following three seasons. The Baggies finally won the competition on their third attempt and the club went on to win more FA Cup trophies in later years. West Bromwich have won every domestic honour at least once and they claimed their first top flight title in 1920. The Baggies continued to challenge for further championships, finishing as league runners-up in 1925 and 1954. West Bromwich regularly finished in the top five during the 1950s and their football performances were so impressive, they were given the nickname “The Team of the Century" by the press. West Brom beat West Ham in the 1966 League Cup final and they reached another League Cup final in the following year. The Baggies reached the final for a third time in 1970, having enjoyed a successful run in the European Cup Winners’ Cup in the previous season. Although West Bromwich’s league form dwindled in the 1980s and 1990s, the Baggies reached the Premiership for the first time in 2002.
